# Map

Stonehaven has a Web Map accessible at **https://map.stonehavenmc.com**

## Introduction

The map contains both a Top-Down and Orthographic view of the Overworld. It updates in quasi-realtime and shows positions of players and towns within the world. It also has markers for Towns, Nation Capitols, as well as the World Border which is shown as a Red Border around the map.

## Navigating the Map

To zoom in and out, you can scroll or use the `+` and `-` buttons in the top-left of the screen. Here, you'll also find the "Layers" button which allows you to toggle Players, Markers, and Towny information on and off.

Moving to the bottom left, you're able to see the current coordinates your mouse is hovering over, as well as a copy-link button which allows you to copy a link to the position on the map that your view is centered on.

Finally, in the top right, you can find three buttons. The leftmost button opens the menu that allows you to switch between the Flat (Top-Down) view of the map and the Orthographic view. The right button opens a menu showing a list of players online. For any players that isn't greyed-out, you're able to click on them to move your viewport directly to their position. Any player that's greyed out is not visible on the map for one of a few reasons, found below.

## Hidden Players

Players may be hidden from the map for any of the following reasons:

- Player is underground/in a large building
- Player is sneaking
- Player has the Invisibility effect

## Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble loading the map, please check the following:
- You're using a modern browser
- Chromium Based Browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera(GX), and Brave work well)
- Firefox and its forks (Waterfox, Librewolf, etc.)
- You have JavaScript enabled
- The map requires JavaScript to work, so having it disabled will lead to the site not loading correctly.
- You have a stable internet connection
- You can check your speed at https://speedtest.net. Anything >10mbps is adequate.
- If all else fails, join our [[Discord Server|Discord]] and we'll be happy to help you!
